Rockshok recently announced the 2002 updates for their existing line of forks as well as a brand new arrival . . . Duke. Simply take a Sid, add rigidity, 30mm stanchions and larger bushings. The Duke comes two 3" models, Race and XC, as well as a the Duke SL 100 with 4 inches.

Maxxis Mofo DH

If you've been looking for an excuse to get new tires and want to go big(26x2.35 - 60 Duro), here's your opportunity. Maxxis' Mofos are great for medium to loose soil conditions and are only \$16.00 (US) at JensonUSA!! I've seen them for as much as \$50 elsewhere.

Chute Lake Trails
British Columbia

Shawn Bell from Kelowna, BC has submitted another nice piece of footage from Kelowna, British Columbia. Stunt riders are Ryan Panel and Shawn riding Dr. No, Honey Rider and Superbowel trails. For more video, check out our video section.

Missy's New Bike

Missy Giove who is now racing for Orange Mountain Bikes out of the UK is currently testing and refining a new prototype (shown at right). Missy wanted things changed from her current Orange 222. The new bike has 10 inches of rear travel, and a floating rear brake. Don't look at seeing this bike produced until Missy is totally happy. 2002-2003?

New Kona Bikes

Scheduled for June 1st (nothing yet on their site), Kona is releasing the SE Kahuna (Full Suspension XC), the Stinky Six (Freeride Team Clump Bike), and the SE Scrap (Hardtail Hucking Bike). No pic yet. Sorry.

Kranked IV @ Park City May 31st

Ok, it's on. I passed the torch to my buddy Jason at feedthehabit.com and he's running with it. FeedTheHabit Promotions has put on hugely successful ski films in the past and knows how to turn a presentation into an EVENT. Tickets are onsale now for only $5.00 if you pay in advance. Park City and the LAST stop on the Kranked IV World Tour. Sounds pretty good to me.

Aardvark Showdown @ 5 Mile Pass

The Intermountain Cup Series has been controlling the Utah XC racing seen for the last few years and last weekends stop on the circuit showed a great turnout, great weather (65 degrees), and a great race. Aardvark Cycles helped put this one on and managed to put their rider Elena Felin on the podium taking 1st for the Pro/Expert Women. She was riding a Pure Adrenalin.

Kranked IV Premier

SHOWING IN A THEATER NEAR YOU! (hopefully) Get to Radical Films and find the showing nearest you. You don't wanna miss it. We'll be attending here at Utah Valley State College in "Orem, Utah" (the site has a misprint showing it as Salt Lake City, which is 40 minutes away) this weekend. Mad Dog Cycles is putting it on again this year for the Utah County crowd. Thanks to Steve and Randy for putting it on.

I was corresponding with Johny Smoke about possibly putting one on in Park City, but couldn't get things together fast enough after my accident and injury. Still would be willing to put something together up in Park City if there was any interest from folks here in Utah. It'd have to be within the next couple of weeks. Let me know.

New Games Section

Free bike games for all. This isn't Unreal Tournament or Motocross Madness 2. We're talking about java, shockwave and small downloadable bike games.

Bender's New Bike

Karpiel is making it. It's got a couple rear shocks. Yes, that's TWO (2). One is the smaller is simply an air shock to help him not bounce so much after his drops. Bet he wish he had this at Deer Valley last summer.

Just thought everyone would like to see this thing. I know the opinions vary widely on Bender and what he is doing to the sport of Mountain Biking. Post your opinions in the new Forum.

Greenvalley Loop of Hell

What was supposed to be a great weekend filled with some great rides in Southern Utah including St. George's Greenvalley loop and Gooseberry Mesa, turned into a quick end to my summer. I somehow managed to dislocate and fracture my shoulder, resulting in 4 months or required healing(according to the doc) after my surgery next week. Worst thing about it, was we just started the ride. Check out some of the pics by following the link to the left.

Bender's Deer Valley Jump

I was at Deer Valley when he did the jump, but was in a parking lot car jam, and too far away to see it up close. My opinion, Bender has guts, but he doesn't seem to have any instinct for self preservation. I wonder if he just feels pressure to go bigger and bigger because he's leading the radical riding rage in mountain biking.

Ride to the Hills

Jörli Riker's "Shift" sequel. With involvement from Fox, they dropped the name Shift since they compete with the clothing company bearing the same name. The premiers are this week in Canada and ? Check out this clip in the meantime.

Feedthehabit.com

The ski season is almost over, but don't tell that to these guys.. They live, breathe and die powder. When they aren't seeking pow, they can be found working at The Canyons, maintaining their Website or promoting the next ski film. Whether you're skiing in Utah or not, check these guys out.

New Suspension for Santa Cruz and Intense:

Santa Cruz and Intense have both released prototype rear suspension systems featuring the Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) suspension design. Santa Cruz bought the patent from Outland, who underbuilt their bikes and were prone to failure. Rob Roskopp of Santa Cruz Bicycles says he and Jeff Steber of Intense have been blown away by the design ever since Outland debuted it in the early 90's. 9" of travel on a bike that Rob claims is "the most efficient pedaling downhill bike on the market."

Bike Race Fight::

An enraged spectator thinks that the best way to influence this race is to attack a downed bike racer. He deserved it after pushing over another biker.

Singletrack Online Want to see old school videos in a newer technology site? Singletrack Online is all quicktime videos but has good content. Everything from Dual Slalom racing to interval training and shifting techniques.

Kranked IV !!!!

DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE ON THIS SITE TILL YOU CHECK OUT THE TRAILER ON RADICAL-FILMS.COM. . . . .Now that you are in the mood, continue . . . . .

Pinkbike.com

Found this pretty cool site run outta Canada. Take a look. Mostly liked it cause they had my bike on the home page. Apparently they like Santa Cruz?? Go figure. They have a great winterfest video Take a look at a great winterfest of sorts. The video is on their site at:http://www.pinkbike.com/video/testasf9.asf

Supergo.com

Honestly, I am so tired of so called internet bike shops that have like 20 items, or are totally overpriced. I'd appreciate anyone to let me know if they've found a bike shop website that has a better selection than supergo.com. If you are interested in throwing yourself off of a cliff this season, they have a great prices on protective clothing by Fox and DV8 starting at $19.00 for I think Shin/Knee guards and Elbow guards!

Blackspire.com Broke the arch on my Marzocchi Jr. T and was looking at 70 bones to replace it. Found Blackspire outta British Columbia with a brake arch to fit the Jr. T at $35.00 (US). Have read GOOD reviews on them and am interested in getting some of there other stuff. They boast indestructibility, lightness and I've found cheaper than the competition. Check em out.
